November marks the transition into the more dormant season on the homestead. Our garlic was in the ground, so we turned indoors and spent some time on more domestic activities like knitting, carving, shelling beans, and cozying up with warm beverages and fluffy blankets. I love this time of year when it’s not too cold yet to enjoy the outdoors, but yet cool enough to enjoy all the fall activities.
On the more exciting side of the spectrum, we kicked off our farmhouse build! We began excavating, running around the permit office, placing orders, and making loads of final decisions. At the time of writing this our driveway is complete, the basement is dug, the electric company is scheduled to bury power lines, and the footers should be getting poured as I type. SO MUCH is happening. Rest assured we’ll keep you updated on our Instagram and our Youtube channel as we go along.
To help you keep up with what’s growing at Cottage Farmstead this year, we’ve put together a November 2021 homestead video roundup highlighting the latest happenings around these here parts. Enjoy!
