We’re Rebecca and Nathan. Two generations removed from farming, agricultural is in our roots and blood. Our childhood veggie patches and grandparent farm visits sparked a lifelong pursuit of growing our own food.
Our grandparents and great-grandparents cultivated the earth, raised livestock, grew gardens, and knew how to preserve their labors, stock a pantry, and fill the larder. This is our journey regaining generational knowledge and experience to once again live off the land.
Hi, I’m Nathan! I turned my love of gardening into a market garden business as a teenager in western Michigan. A few years later I moved with my family to the sunnier and warmer South Carolina and started afresh in the piedmont. When I’m not farming for business, I’m farming for pleasure. It’s hard to keep my hands out of the dirt! Oh, and I love eating delicious food and experimenting in the kitchen with or without a recipe.
Hola, I’m Rebecca and I grew up in the southern Carolina and never left. By day I digitize and preserve local cultural heritage materials, but by night I urban homestead complete with backyard chickens. I love planning, strategizing, and generally making the world a more organized place. I enjoy seeing the world through the lens of a camera and documenting life’s adventures in image and word.
We met the old-fashioned way with a mutual friend setting us up at a dance. We reconnected the modern way through social media and have been inseparable ever since. We hope our cottage life and farmsteading adventures inspire you to cultivate your neck of the woods and enjoy the sweet simple pleasures of the farming the land.
